Ayurveda Lifestyle & Nutrition
Simple, practical Ayurveda for everyday life
Ayurveda is a traditional system of wellbeing from India that has been practised for thousands of years.
At its heart is the idea that our wellbeing is influenced by how we live — including what we eat, how we sleep, our daily routines, our activity, our environment and the changing seasons.
You don't need to become an Ayurveda expert to benefit from its principles.
And you certainly don't need to turn your life upside down.
Ayurveda for real life
As a qualified Ayurveda Lifestyle & Nutrition Consultant, I use Ayurvedic principles to help you understand your own patterns and explore practical changes that fit your life.
We might look at things such as:
Food and nutrition - How, when and what we eat, and how our eating habits fit with our individual needs and routines.
Daily routine - Simple ways to create more supportive rhythms around waking, eating, working, moving and resting.
Sleep and rest - Looking at your daily habits and evening routine and exploring ways to create better conditions for rest.
Seasonal living - Adapting food, activity and routine as the seasons change rather than trying to live the same way all year round.
Energy and balance - Understanding how your daily habits may be affecting how you feel and finding practical ways to create more balance.
You don't have to do everything
One of the things I like most about Ayurveda is that it gives us lots to explore — but that doesn't mean you need to do it all.
In a consultation, we'll focus on what's relevant to you.
You might leave with one or two simple changes to try rather than a long list of things to remember.
Then you can see how they fit into your life.
What happens in an Ayurveda consultation?
Your first consultation is a chance to talk properly about you.
We'll discuss your current routines, food and eating habits, sleep, activity, energy, lifestyle and the areas you'd like to explore.
I'll use Ayurvedic principles to help identify patterns and offer practical lifestyle and nutrition suggestions.
You'll receive recommendations to take away and try in your own time.
This isn't about being perfect.
It's about finding small changes that are realistic enough to become part of everyday life.
Ayurveda and yoga
For me, Ayurveda and Viniyoga complement each other beautifully.
Yoga gives us practical tools to work with the body and breath.
Ayurveda looks at the wider picture of how we live.
Sometimes you may benefit from one or the other.
Sometimes bringing them together makes sense.
That's why I offer both individual Ayurveda consultations and combined Yoga & Ayurveda support.
Who is Ayurveda for?
You don't need to be experienced in yoga or know anything about Ayurveda.
You might simply feel that your current routines aren't working as well as you'd like.
Perhaps you'd like to:
create a more supportive daily routine
improve your relationship with food
make time for proper rest
develop better evening habits
understand how to live more seasonally
feel more organised around your wellbeing
make some positive changes without taking on another complicated programme
Ayurveda can be explored at any stage of life.
A practical approach
I don't believe wellbeing should become another thing to feel guilty about.
My approach is simple: understand, explore, adapt.
We'll look at where you are now and work from there.
